Area of usage

A homepage is the main page of a website1. If you want to present a specific topic on a website that has its own structure, its own navigation with various subtopics/subpages, the homepage is the first page that your site visitors see. The homepage is designed to grab visitors' attention and show them what the website is about.

So use this template if you have several subtopics/subpages in its own environment and with that an own main navigation.

Mandatory elements

  • Title of the homepage
  • Hide/unhide right feature area and or left navigation
  • Hide/unhide modification date
  • Site expiration date
  • Navigation style
  • Site title
  • Title attribute (used for the link title attribute as additional information to expand on the meaning of the link)
  • Contact information like content owner

Do not use the topic homepage template for standalone pages!
