A homepage is the main page of a website¹. If you want to present a specific topic on a website that has its own structure, its own navigation with various subtopics/subpages, the homepage is the first page that your site visitors see. The homepage is designed to grab visitors' attention and show them what the website is about.

So use this template if you have several subtopics/subpages in its own environment and with that an own main navigation.
