Advancing methane emissions abatement in maritime and land-based industries

  • Methane is over 80 times more potent than CO~2~ in the short term, making its reduction essential to achieving global climate goals. Daphne Technology is addressing this challenge by helping hard-to-abate sectors reduce methane emissions from gas-powered engines.
  • The company's core product, SlipPure^TM^, reduces methane directly from the engines' exhaust. Complementing this, PureMetrics^TM^ provides high-frequency, real-time data on methane and CO~2~ emissions-supporting compliance with regulations such as EU ETS and IMO CII while improving operational performance. These technologies enable operators to meet tightening environmental requirements and advance their decarbonisation strategies.
  • Founded in 2018 by Board Director Dr Mario Michan, Daphne Technology is built on the concept developed during his research at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), where his vision was to address the critical challenge of greenhouse gas emissions through applied science and innovation.
  • Over the years, the company has developed several emission reduction concepts and gained recognition from global industry leaders, including the prestigious Swiss Economic Forum Award in 2022. In 2024, Daphne sharpened its focus on methane slip abatement to address urgent climate and regulatory needs.
